Now college teachers for enhancement of retirement age

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir College Teachers’ Association has sought enhancement of superannuation age for the teachers working in the higher education department. A delegation of Association headed by president Prof Tariq Ashai called on minister for higher education, Abdul Gani Malik, and apprised him about the problems being faced by the teachers. “The delegation highlighted various issues particularly the enhancement of age of superannuation for all teachers, confirmation of in-charge principals by referring the vacant posts to Public Service Commission, placement of associate professors to the post of professor through career advancement scheme, placement of senior and selection grade teachers, workload and many other issues,” said a spokesman of the Association in a statement. The Association has thanked the V-C KU for fulfilling demand of reducing eligibility criteria for pursuing Ph. D from 15 years to 3 years with respect to college teachers.
