Srinagar: Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences has announced admission for PhD in three subjects and published a detailed brochure for these doctoral courses.
A notice published by SKIMS has announced admission for PhD courses in Immunology and Molecular Medicine, Biochemistry and Microbiology.
The selection to these courses will be made through a competitive entrance examination to be conducted by SKIMS (deemed University).
It will consist of a written test, practical exam and viva- voce.
While the written examination will carry 100 marks, the practical and viva-voce will have an aggregate of 40 marks.
The number of seats has not been made public yet but it has been mentioned that “ordinarily one student per guide will be admitted”.
The detailed eligibility criteria are also part of the admission brochure.
A stipend of Rs 10,000 is paid to a PhD scholar at SKIMS. The course fee, including registration, is Rs 67,000. (GKNN)
