SRINAGAR — The cause of the fire at Kashmir’s lone Bone and Joint Hospital in Barzulla is being ascertained, the authorities said on Saturday.
However, they said that the top priority at present is to resume OPD and Emergency services at the unaffected building of the hospital.
Principal GMC Srinagar Dr Samia Rashid told the news agency Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the cause of the fire is being ascertained. Nonetheless, she refuted LPG cylinder blasts in the hospital as being attributed to a statement by a senior health official.
The investigations to ascertain the cause of the fire is on while restoring the immediate patient care especially of shifted patients to various hospitals and resumption of OPD and Emergency services at the unaffected building of Bone and Joint Hospital Barzulla is the top priority this time, she said.
Medical Superintendent, Bone and Joint Hospital Srinagar, Dr Mian Suhail told KNO that patients have been shifted to two wards of SMHS and SKIMS Medical College JVC Bemina. He said that the damage caused due to fire is being assessed.
