GURUGRAM — In the cyber city of Haryana, commotion was once again witnessed on the streets of Gurugram after a man was beaten ruthlessly on suspicion of carrying beef.

Dozens of youths in Badshahpur area badly beat up the pick-up driver, thinking he was transporting cow meat.

After the assault, during which the police and some passersby merely watched, the man was put back in the vehicle and taken to Badshahpur village, where he was beaten up again.

The injured youth was on his way to Saddar Bazaar in Badshahpur in a pick-up van which was full of meat. At that moment, dozens of young men ambushed him, beat him mercilessly, and smashed his van.

Police rushed to the spot and rescued the driver, but after that all the youths became aggressive with the police. After several hours of commotion, the police rushed the injured driver to the hospital where he is undergoing treatment.

According to the people living in the meat market, the pick-up did not contain beef but buffalo meat, but the youths thought it was beef and beat the driver badly, while they had been selling meat in Saddar Bazaar for a long time.

As per reports reaching here, Police have arrested one accused in the case.
