Mumbai: Faiz Usmani, the brother of Ahmedabad blasts suspect Afzal Usmani, on Sunday died in a hospital following interrogation by the Maharashtra ATS in connection with Wednesday’s Mumbai serial blasts.
According to reports, Faiz was taken to the Sion hospital after he allegedly fell sick during questioning by police yesterday. He died in the hospital. Doctors said Faiz died of brain haemorrhage.
His family members, however, blamed the Mumbai police and ATS officials for his death claiming foul play.
The police, while denying that they tortured him, admitted Faiz was not feeling well when they brought him for questioning. They said he was suffering from hypertension.
