
SRINAGAR — J&K Finance Department’s Directorate of Accounts and Treasuries has issued a notification for creation of 2000 posts of Accounts Assistants in the Department of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj. In this connection, an Advertisement Notification will be issued by J&K Services Selection Board (JKSSB) very soon.
Before being announced officially, these posts were first mentioned in the J&K Budget Document of 2019-20.
It is pertinent to mention that this is just an Executive Order issued by the Finance Department for creation of these vacancies while as the official notification for recruitment is expected to be made public by JKSSB within the present month i.e, July 2019.
However, the District-wise break-up of vacancies has already been announced and made available below:

With 158 vacancies in 402 Panchayats, Baramulla has the most number of vacancies while as Srinagar has the least number of vacancies i.e, 7 vacancies in 21 Panchayats.
Eligibility Criteria & Selection Process:
I. Selection of Accounts Assistants in Panchayats shall be made by J&K Services Selection Board on District level basis from among the applicants having their basic qualification as Graduation or above with minimum of 50% marks for Open Merit and 45% marks for Reserved categories in Commerce, Business Administration, Science, Computer Applications, IT and any other discipline with Mathematics, Statistics or Economics as one of the subjects.
II. Selection of Accounts Assistant in Panchayats shall be made only by Direct Recruitment and a person so selected shall work on probation for a period of two years which shall include their one year training as well.
III. Selection in the Panchayat as Accounts Assistants shall be appointed under SRO 202 whereunder they withdraw contractual salary for the first five years and regular salary thereafter. Drawal of regular salary on completion of five years shall also be subject to the successful qualification of the selected Accounts Assistants in Panchayat.
