SRINAGAR — Government has withdrawn the requirement for obtaining No Objection Certificate (NOC) for land acquisition for armed forces in J&K.
The order allows “Army, BSF, CRPF and similar organizations” to acquire land without clearance from the Home Department of J&K.
The order issued by the J&K Revenue Department cites extension of Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 to the UT, in this regard.
This comes on the heels of J&K administration’s nod to the proposal of amending the Control of Building Operations Act, 1988 and the J&K Development Act, 1970 to provide for special dispensation for carrying out construction activities in Strategic Areas by armed forces.
