SRINAGAR — Government of Jammu and Kashmir re-constituted committee under the chairmanship of Administrative Secretary, Home Department to identify foreign nationals illegally overstaying in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir since January 1, 2011.

“In supersession to the Government Order No. 494-Home of 2023 dated 13.10.2023, the sanction is hereby accorded to the re-constitution of the committee with the following composition to identify foreign nationals illegally overstaying in the UT of J&K, since 01.01.2011,” an order issued in this connection said.

Foreigners Regional Registration Officer, (FRRO) BOI, Amritsar, Punjab; Senior Superintendent of Police, CID, Special Branch, Jammu; Senior Superintendent of Police, CID, Special Branch, Srinagar; Senior Superintendent of Police, CID, Headquarters, J&K; All District SSsP/SsP (FRO); State Coordinators, IVFRT, NIC, J&K will be its members, the order reads.

It further said that the Senior Superintendent of Police, CID Headquarters, J&K shall also act as Nodal Officer on the subject and; compile and prepare monthly reports of missing/illegally staying foreign nationals in the UT of J&K and submit report by the fifth day of every month to the Home Department.

The officer has been directed to coordinate and follow up activities between FRRO and FROs regarding tracking and deporting of foreign nationals staying illegally in the UT of J&K. Further, he has to monitor the progress achieved on the issues on the subject, in consideration, from time to time, and report to Home Department on regular basis on these issues after compiling from FROs.

The SSP CID headquarters has been asked to disseminate, communicate and circulate information between FRRO and FROs pertaining to the various cases sub-judice on the subject in different courts and regularly monitor, update and inform the status of these cases to the concerned quarters.

Further, the Nodal Officer shall also monitor capturing the biographic and biometric details of illegal migrants and report the progress achieved to the Home Department after compiling from FROs and maintain up-to-date records digitally on a regular basis, of those illegally staying in the UT of J&K.
