SRINAGAR — Police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested a surrendered militant in Reasi who was accused of murder and was absconding since last few years.
Police spokesman in a statement said that on a specific input, a special team led by Dr. Wasim Hamdani Dy SP Headquarter Reasi and Inspector Ashwani Sharma SHO Reasi nabbed a murder accused who was a surrendered militant namely Mohd Irfan alias Babloo, son of Shafqat Ali Bhat of Kalotran Teh Gandoh District Doda.
The accused was evading his arrest in case FIR No. 57/2002 under section 302 RPC 7/27 A Act P/S Gandoh since 08-02-2003, he said, adding that the accused was working as a labourer with a private contractor at Gran Morh Reasi.
“The arrest was made under the direct supervision of Shiv Kumar Chauhan Additional SP Reasi and Smt. Nisha Nathyal SSP Reasi,” he added.
