Desi liquor manufacturing still unearthed in Rajouri: Police

RAJOURI — Police on Monday evening claimed to have achieved a major success after it busted a working still being used for manufacturing of Desi liquor in forest area of Narain Batala Top and seized sixty five liters of liquor besides destroying around eight hundred liters of Lahaan.

Police said that on an information, a team of police from Chingus Chatyar Police Post headed by SI Ashish Chowdhary under the supervision of SHO Rajouri Sameer Jilani raided a forest area in Batala Top near Narain.

“A local man saw movement of police personnel and escaped from the spot, taking advantage of darkness but working still was unearthed and destroyed on the spot,” police said.

It added that 65 liters of locally prepared liquor has been seized and 800 kilograms of Lahaan has been destroyed while a case under relevant Sections of Excise Act has been registered in local Police Station.
