SRINAGAR — An encounter raged in Kishtwar forests between militants and government forces on Friday.
In a statement, police said that four days back, two SPOs of Kishtwar district were attacked by two suspects of Dachan area with axes, killing one and injuring another. Police parties rushed and gave a chase through jungles and mountainous terrain.
They were reinforced with additional police parties and local Army unit. Some time back, contact was established and exchange of fire started.
