JAMMU — In a major crackdown to dismantle the militancy ecosystem, Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday carried out simultaneous raids in the houses of militants hailing from Doda and Kishtwar districts, who had crossed over the border and are presently operating from the Pakistan-occupied-Kasmir (PoK) and Pakistan.

The raids were carried out at several locations in both districts.

They stated that many locations in Doda and Kishtwar have been raided.

“The houses are not sealed, but during searches, electronic gadgets, incriminating documents and related material have been seized by the teams,” they said.

They added that the searches would also help to gather evidence and identify their supporters and sympathisers who are working as overground workers in these hilly terrains. The raids are underway, they said.

Notably, in 2023, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) Special Court, upon the request of police, issued non-bailable warrants against 23 militants from district Kishtwar but settled and operating from Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK).
