JAMMU — Gandhi Nagar police on Thursday claimed to have apprehended a man with pistol during checking in Ashok Nagar area of Jammu.
“A police party of Police Station Gandhi Nagar led by SHO Sunil Jasrotia, was on patrolling/checking duty today in the jurisdiction. When the police party reached Ashok Nagar, they came across a pedestrian who tried to evade the police party in a suspicious manner,” police spokesman said in a statement.
He said that the police party apprehended a person who was then identified as Tajinder Singh alias Happy son of Mohinder Singh of Ward No. 04, Simbal Camp.
“On checking, one country made pistol along with one live cartridge was recovered from his possession,” police said.
Police said that in relation to this, FIR No. 101/2019 under section 3/25 Arms Act has been registered in PS Gandhi Nagar and investigation was initiated.
