
SRINAGAR — Government of India on Friday handed over investigations into the recent Nagrota encounter case to National Investigation Agency (NIA), official sources said.
A senior official of NIA confirmed that the premier investigating agency has registered an FIR after getting case details from J&K Police.
“Yes, we have taken up the investigations of recent Nagrota encounter,” the NIA official said.
On November 19, an encounter took place at Ban Toll Naka in Nagrota, Jammu in which four Jaish-e-Muhammad militants were killed.
Security forces had recovered huge quantity of arms and ammunition from the slain militants, who were travelling in a truck and were intercepted by the police at a Naka point.
