Jammu: The State High Court on Saturday asked the investigating officer probing allegations against Pastor C M Khana to produce the case diary before the court.
Pastor Khana is accused of apostasy in the Valley and Ram Munshibagh Police Station had filed an FIR against him in this connection.
A Bench of Jammu and Kashmir High Court after hearing arguments of the counsel for the petitioner issued notice to the respondents to file reply and directed to stopping proceedings against the accused till the next date of hearing.
The counsel for the petitioner submitted before the court that the accused is a Pastor of All Saints Church Srinagar. “Ram Munshi Bagh Police Station filed a case against the accused after getting information that some persons approached the police with some CD and some other electronic material claiming that this could lead to communal disharmony. The CD and electronic material were prepared with malicious and deliberate intention to frame my client,” he added.
The counsel informed the court that before the registration of FIR, the petitioner was summoned by Supreme Court of Islamic Sharia (Central Dar-ul Futwa). He argued the petitioner reserves his right to know whether the existence of such court has any sanction of law and has a competence to summon the petitioner.
