Pulwama man arrested in Jammu in connection with IED recovery case

JAMMU — The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday claimed to have arrested a man belonging to south Kashmir’s Pulwama district in Jammu for his involvement in a case related to the recovery of an Improvised Explosive Devise (IED) from a boy near Jammu bus stand last Sunday.

Inspector General of Police (Jammu Zone), Mukesh Singh said that Rah Hussain Bhat son of Abdul Rashid Bhat, resident of 55 Batbagh Hunipora area of Nehama in Pulwama has been arrested in case FIR No. 05/2021.

He said that the case was registered in Police Station Bus Stand, Jammu under Sections 4/5 ESA, 18, 23, 38 UA(P)A, 120B of IPC.

“The case was registered after recovery of IED from Suhail Bashir at Jammu Bus Stand on February 14, which prevented a major terror strike in Jammu,” said the IGP, adding that further investigation of the case is going on.
