Two infiltrators neutralized on LoC in Poonch: Army

SRINAGAR — Indian Army on Monday said that it eliminated two infiltrators while foiling an infiltration attempt on the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir.

A defence spokesperson in Jammu, Lt Col Suneel Bartwal in a statement issued to the news agency KNO said that the army launched “Operation Bahadur” in the intervening night of Sunday and Monday after an attempt was made by infiltrators on the LoC in the Poonch sector.

The operation, the spokesperson said, was launched by the Indian Army along with Jammu & Kashmir Police.

“In this Operation Bahadur, two infiltrators have been eliminated,” he said, adding that the search operations are in progress.
