BUDGAM — Crime Branch, Kashmir on Saturday produced the chargesheet with regard to the illegal appointments made in Physical Education Department (PET) in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
Pertinently, the scam had created uproar in 2011 when it came to the fore that some people in connivance with Department officials made illegal appointments, thus depriving deserving candidates.
The case was handed over to Crime Branch Kashmir. Crime Branch Kashmir accordingly registered an FIR vide number 6/11 under section 420, 468, 471, 201 RPC.
A Crime Branch official said that during the course of the investigation, it has been established that 7 candidates had managed their selection on the basis of fake National Sports Certificates, purportedly issued by various Sports Federations of India.
The official identified these accused as Muhammad Shafi Parray son of Ghulam Mohiuddin of Beerwah Budgam, Javid Ahmad Akhoon son of Ghulam Rasool of Kanihama Beerwah, Maqsood Ali War son of Mohammad Ramzan of Peth Makhama Beerwah, Agha Syed Mehmood son of Syed Jaffer, Nisar Ahmad Rather son of Sabir Ali, both residents of Ichgam Budgam, Mohammad Ayoub Raina son of Ghulam Ahmad Raina of Hassipora Chadoora and Ghulam Jeelani Shah son of Hafizullah Shah of Kakapora Pulwama.
During the investigations, all such certificates produced by the accused have been found as fake and accordingly, charges have been pressed against the accused in the Court.
It is also pertinent to state that based on the investigation by Crime Branch Kashmir, Directorate of Youth Services and Sports, J&K had already cancelled 14 such appointments including those of the 7 accused in the case.
