ANANTNAG — A 21-year-old youth allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in Utrasoo area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Saturday, becoming sixth suicide victim in the month of August in Kashmir Valley.
An official said that the youth (name withheld) from Kandaji Brariangan hanged himself at his home this morning and died on the spot.
The official said that it was not immediately known as to why the youth took this extreme step. “Police have registered a case and initiated proceedings in this regard,” he said.
As per details available with us, in the last eight days, six persons including five teenagers ended their lives by allegedly committing suicide in Kashmir Division.
