Advisory issued for safe travel to Pahalgam amid snowfall

SRINAGAR — The Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Pahalgam has issued an advisory to ensure public safety following snowfall and slippery road conditions in the region.

According to an advisory quoted by the news agency JKNS, the use of 4×4 vehicles is recommended, along with fixing anti-skid chains for safer travel. Residents and tourists are urged to avoid nocturnal travel until road conditions improve.

It reads that roadside parking has been strictly prohibited to prevent inconvenience. Drivers have been cautioned against overspeeding and advised to exercise due caution. Tourists and locals have also been urged to avoid venturing into avalanche-prone areas to prevent potential hazards.
