After brief pause, gunfight resumes in Khanmoh Srinagar

SRINAGAR — After a brief lull, fresh exchange of firing has started between militants and government forces in Khanmoh area of central Kashmir’s Srinagar district here on Monday.

A senior police officer said that militants were again engaged after militants had changed location earlier.

One militant has been killed in the ongoing encounter so far. “One militant has been killed in the ongoing gunfight. However, identity of the slain militant is yet to be ascertained,” the police officer said.

Earlier, a joint team of Police and Army’s 50RR launched a cordon and search operation in Khonmoh.

Till this report was being filed, intermittent firing was going on.

Meanwhile, mobile internet services (2G, 3G, 4G) were snapped in Pulwama district.
