Srinagar: Clashes erupted near the site of a gunfight in Bunpora Muniward area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Wednesday.
Reports said that youth took to streets soon after the gunfight broke out in the village located near Khanabal area of the district.
They said the forces fired tear gas to chase away the protesters who were pelting them with stones.
A local said that restrictions have been imposed in Anantnag town in the wake of the gunfight that broke out around 5 am.
Meanwhile, the exchange of fire has stopped at the gunfight site.
An official said two bodies are lying at the site of the gunfight. “They are yet to be retrieved,” he said. (GKNN)
