Army man succumbs, toll reaches four in Kulgam

SRINAGAR — The Army man injured in the Kulgam gunfight has succumbed to injuries and his death has taken the death toll to four including two militants and a DySP of J&K Police.

“The Army jawan has succumbed to injuries at hospital,” sources confimed. Earlier, two unidentified militants were killed in the gunbattle.

A DySP ranking officer of Police was also killed after he was hit with a bullet in head.

The gunfight erupted in Turigam village of Kulgam Sunday afternoon as government forces had launched an operation in the area following information about militants hiding there. (KNO)
