SRINAGAR — An Army patrolling party of 44 Rashtriya Rifles on Thursday afternoon resorted to aerial firing after it came under attack of stone pelting in Aripora village of Shopian.

A police official said that there was no militant attack on the patrolling party but incident of stone pelting took place while Army was patrolling in the area.

“The party came under severe stone pelting attack at Aripora Shopian to which Army retaliated by firing aerial shots,” the police official said.
