BJP lady worker thrashed at her home in Bandipora

SRINAGAR — A lady worker of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) sustained injuries after she was thrashed by unknown persons at her home in Bankoot village of northern Kashmir’s Bandipora district during the intervening night of Sunday and Monday.

Officials identified the BJP lady worker as Naheeda Qomar, wife of Yasir Ahmad, resident of Bankoot who is also a BJP district president of ST Morcha and Women’s Secretary in Bandipora district.

They said two unknown persons wearing masks entered her home during the intervening night of Sunday and Monday and thrashed her, leaving her seriously wounded.

She was later taken to District Hospital Bandipora for treatment where her condition is stated to be stable.

An official from the District Hospital Bandipora said that Naheeda had received head injuries and is stable now.

Meanwhile, police said that they have no information regarding the incident, but will ascertain the facts.
