Coronavirus claims another life in Kashmir

SRINAGAR — One more person died of COVID-19 infection in Kashmir Valley today. The death occurred at Chest Disease Hospital Srinagar.

The deceased patient was the father of young man from Hawal Srinagar who died of the same infection at SMHS Hospital Srinagar a couple of days ago.

Medical Superintendent, Chest Disease Hospital, Dr Saleem Tak said that an elderly patient died of COVID-19 infection in the hospital today. He said that the deceased patient hails from Hawal Srinagar whose son died of the same infection at SMHS Hospital.

He said the cause of the death is pancreatic cancer. The patient was in the 4th stage of cancer.

Pertinently, the deceased man’s son had died of cytokine storm – an immune system response wherein the body starts to attack its own cells and tissues, rather than just fighting off the virus.
