SRINAGAR — A police cop and a councillor were killed after militants attacked the meeting of Municipal councillors in Sopore town of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Monday afternoon.
Sources said that militants attacked the councillors of Municipal Committee in Sopore after firing at them indiscriminately near the meeting hall of Lone Building, located in Sopore.
Sources said that in the incident, a PSO of one of the councillors identified as Shafaqat Ahmad and Councillor Riyaz Ahmad were killed in the attack.
Sources said that one more injured person was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, government forces have sealed the whole area and a massive manhunt has been launched to nab the attackers.
