DC Pulwama slashes fine on 106 unauthorizedly parked vehicles

PULWAMA — Continuing with the momentum of complete decongestion of Pulwama town, Deputy Commissioner Pulwama today imposed fine on 106 vehicles which were either unauthorizedly parked, unattended or abandoned in Pulwama town. The vehicles obstructing the road were towed by Municipal authorities.

District Development Commissioner Pulwama, Dr Raghav Langer accompanied by Tehsildar, ARTO and Executive officer MC carried out a drive in Pulwama to decongest the area for free traffic movement.

During the drive, 106 illegally parked vehicles along roadside were seized on spot and have been fined for illegal parking.

Speaking on the occasion, DDC said that that ample parking space has been made available at old bus stand where people can park their vehicles. He appealed people to avail the facility and cooperate with the administration in town’s decongestion.

While instructing the towing of the unlawfully parked and unattended vehicles, DDC said that the district administration is committed towards the rational traffic management of the town and adding aesthetic value to it multidimensionally.

He added that unattended, abandoned and unlawfully parked vehicles shall be seized and shall be necessarily fined under newly amended Motor Vehicles Act. He appealed people to avail the parking facility or face action.
