SRINAGAR — Four structures including two commercial buildings were gutted on Tuesday in a fire incident in the uptown Rajbagh area of Srinagar.
Local sources told the news agency KNT that a fire broke out on the top floor of the commercial building owned by Haji Abdul Rashid Dar. The fire spread quickly to other buildings, damaging another commercial building owned by the late Muhammad Dar.
Sources added that two residential houses were also partially damaged in the fire incident.
They said two commercial buildings owned by the Dar brothers suffered extensive damage. Several private offices were functioning from these commercial buildings.
Locals said that the fire spread quickly due to the blowing of winds while the gas cylinder explosions inside the buildings created hurdles for firefighters.
After hard efforts, the fire was put out by the firemen with the help of locals.
