SRINAGAR — Sofi Aqib, the son of the slain woman Kousar Riyaz, said that government forces fired on their Santro car which resulted in her mother’s death.

While talking on phone, he said, “I left my home situated at lane number 9 in search of safe shelter and when I reached lane number 5, I saw a huge deployment of government forces. My frightened mother compelled me to drive back to home.”

“Soon, I drove my car towards our home. However, they fired from behind, one after another bullet, piercing the head of my mother who was sitting next to my driving seat,” he added.
