
SRINAGAR — Government forces on Saturday morning launched a cordon-and-search operation in at least three villages of Shopian district.
Reports said that a joint team of Army’s 44 RR and Special Operation Group of police (SOG) laid a siege at Shirmal, Heff and Molu Chitragam villages of the district.
Reports said that the forces are conducting door to door search operation in the area and are checking nearby orchards as well.
Meanwhile, officials while confirming this CASO said that the cordon was launched following credible inputs about the movement of some suspected militants in the area.
