SRINAGAR — Government forces on Thursday launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in Reban village of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Sources said that a joint team of forces including 22 RR, Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir Police Sopore and 179 battalion of CRPF personnel cordoned off Reban village in Sopore.
Reports suggest that forces launched a search operation after receiving credible inputs about the presence of some militants in the area.
The forces sealed all entry and exit points leading to the area, reports added.
Door to door searches were going on and no contact was established with militants when the report was last filed.
