SRINAGAR — A gunfight broke out between militants and government forces in Turigam area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Sunday afternoon.

Reports reaching here said that a joint team of Army, CRPF and SOG launched cordon and search operation in Turigam village.

A senior Police official said that the cordon was laid in the area following credible inputs about the presence of some Jaish-e-Mohammad militants.
