Gunfight breaks out in southern Kashmir’s Pulwama

SRINAGAR — A gunfight broke out between militants and government forces in Dangerpora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday.

Reports reaching here said that a joint team of Police, Army’s 55 RR and 182BN, 183BN of CRPF launched cordon search operation in Dangerpora area.

As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, triggering an encounter.

A senior police officer also confirmed about the exchange of firing between the forces and militants. As per the sources, two to three militants are believed to be trapped.
