SRINAGAR — Unknown gunmen on Thursday evening shot at and injured three non-local labourers in Gagren area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
An official told the news agency KNO that militants shot at and injured three non-local labourers in Gagren area of Shopian.
The official said that at 08:45 pm, two pistol-borne masked persons entered the rented accommodation of the non-local labourers at Gagren Shopian where the non-local labourers residing on a rented basis were shot.
The three among them were injured and were evacuated to the nearby District Hospital Shopian where from they were referred to SMHS Hospital Srinagar for advanced treatment
The injured persons have been identified as Anmol Kumar, son of Amardeep; Hiralal Yadav, son of Darsi Yadav and Pintoo Kumar, son of Susheel Kumar—all residents of Supaul district of Bihar.
Meanwhile, an official from the hospital said that Anwal Thakur with right arm and abdomen injuries is in critical condition while two others are stated to be stable.
Moreover, the area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers.
Kashmir Zone Police in a tweet also confirmed the incident and said that the cordon has been launched in the area.
“Terrorists fired upon three outside labourers in Shopian. Injured persons are Anmol Kumar, Pintu Kumar Thakur and Heralal Yadav, all residents of Distt Supaul, Bihar, being shifted to the hospital. Cordon being launched,” Kashmir Police Zone tweeted.
