Gunmen thrash cop inside his house in south Kashmir

KULGAM — Police have registered a case after unidentified gunmen thrashed a cop inside his house in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

Sources said that unidentified militants barged into the house of a cop and thrashed him inside the house. Before fleeing from the spot, the gunmen warned the SPO of dire consequences in case he doesn’t resign from the job.

The incident occurred in Tengbal village of Kulgam. “There were three gunmen who barged into the house of the cop,” said a local, identifying the SPO as Adil Bashir Bhat (738/SPO). The cop is posted at DPO Kulgam.

SSP Kulgam Gurinder Pal Singh confirmed the incident, saying that cognizance of the incident has been taken and a formal case registered in this regard.
