
SHOPIAN — Gunshots created in south Kashmir’s Shopian after the sounds reverberated in the atmosphere on Monday afternoon.
Eyewitnesses said that people in Zainapora area of Shopian ran for safety after continuous gunshots were heard in the area. They took it as a gunfight between militants and Joint Forces.
They said after inquiry, it was found that CRPF personnel from 178 Battalion were doing practice at Babapora Zainapora.
Police sources also confirmed that CRPF personnel were doing practice at Babapora Zainapora area and there was no face-off between militants and soldiers as was perceived by people.
