IED Blast Aftermath: Police books three youth in Shopian

SHOPIAN — Police booked three youth from Shopian district in connection with an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast.

Militants on May 16 this month had detonated an IED when an Army patrolling party from 44 Rashtriya Rifles were moving towards Turkwangam village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district.

Sources said that police have booked three youth for their alleged involvement in this IED attack. All these three youth are the residents of Turkwangam village.

They have been identified as Shoib Shafi Bhat, Muntazir Farooq Lone and Tauqeer Ashraf Lone.

A formal case vide FIR number 46/2021 under Section 13, 16, 18 Unlawful Activities (P) Act, 3/4 Explosives Act has been registered against them at Police Station Zainapora.
