SHOPIAN — Indian Army on Sunday said that it diffused an IED planted by militants in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
Srinagar-based Defence Spokesperson Colonel Rajesh Kalia in a statement said that on Sunday morning, the security forces launched an operation based on input of presence of an IED between Sugan and Turkhwangam in Shopian district.
The said IED was detected and diffused, the Spokesperson said, adding that intense search operation has been launched to nab the militants.
The Spokesperson further said that yesterday, based on a Jammu and Kashmir Police input, a cache of 10 kilograms of gelatine sticks and other stores for making IED was recovered at Barpore village of Pulwama district.
He said some suspects and Over Ground Workers were arrested in this regard.
