During the exchange of fire, an infiltrator was killed while four soldiers were also injured in the shootout.
A police officer told news agency Kashmir News Trust that soldiers recovered the body of an infiltrator along with an AK-47 assault rifle and four magazines in Gohallan sector of Uri.
Pertinently, a search operation was launched by the Indian Army to flush out infiltrators after it detected movement in the Uri area of Baramulla district last week. The search operation was later called off.
