SRINAGAR — The woman from northern Kashmir’s Bandipora who had sustained injuries along with 11 other civilians in a Srinagar grenade blast on November 3 succumbed to her injuries in a Srinagar hospital on Tuesday.

Middle-aged Aabida Kounsar, known as Sumiya Jan in the family circle, died at SMHS Hospital Srinagar, confirmed the hospital sources.

The victim was the inhabitant of Manzam Mohalla Naidkhai area of Bandipora district.

At least 12 civilians including the victim lady had suffered injuries in a grenade blast in Sunday Market Srinagar.

Police have already arrested a trio from Ikhrajpora Srinagar in this connection.

Meanwhile, different political leaders expressed grief over the demise of the victim.

Apni Party president Syed Muhammad Altaf Bukhari in a statement said, “I am deeply saddened by the tragic death of this woman, who was a mother of three young children. She was receiving treatment in the hospital and was on a ventilator.”

Peoples Conference Chairman Sajjad Lone expressed condolences to the bereaved family and prayed eternal peace to the departed soul, and courage to the family.
