PULWAMA — Irregularities have been revealed in Block Development Office of Kakapora area in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district as locals have blamed the officials of looting the public exchequer by providing illegal work.
Meanwhile, a Panchayat member protested against frauds and irregularities and demanded from the administration to investigate the matter so that the culprits are punished.
According to sources, the government exchequer has been looted in this block by using fake names while the administration is working blindly in this regard.
A local Panchayat member said that a VLW Zia Andrabi in Kakapora block has illegally hired vendors and taken out the payments in their name.
According to the Panchayat member, he had already told the village level worker to inform him about this so that the decision could be taken into consideration while carrying out the work, as he did not want the rights of the deserving people to be taken away.
According to concerned Panchayat member, the frauds and irregularities in Kakapora Block can be gauged from the fact that fake work orders were made in the names of Javed Ahmed Sufi and Noor Mohammad Wani.
According to the sources, a full investigation into such irregularities at the Block Development Office, Kakapora could lead to more shocking revelations.
Meanwhile, when contacted, the VLW of the Block Development Office, Kakapora hung up the phone without confirming or denying the news.
The local Sarpanch and Panchs appealed to the concerned administration that CBI should intervene into the matter so that the officers and employees involved can be punished.
