J&K Police arrests militant along with three ‘sympathizers’

KULGAM — Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday said that it arrested four persons including a militant in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

Police sources said that after receiving inputs about the movement of a militant, combined forces trapped a militant near a check-point.

Sources identified the arrested militant as Zeyaz Javaid Dar from north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Sources added that on the disclosure of the arrested militant, three of his associates were also nabbed from the district.

The trio, who all hail from south Kashmir’s Shopian district, have been identified as Zahid Nazir, Umer Yousuf and Muzafar Ahmed.

Police sources said that the arrested persons are being questioned and more arrests are expected.
