Kulgam Gunfight: Army personnel, civilian injured, says J-K Police

KULGAM — An Army trooper and a civilian have been injured in an ongoing encounter in Redwani area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Friday.

As per the official reports, an Army personnel and a civilian were injured during the exchange of fire between militants and security forces.

The civilian identified as Manzoor Ahmad Lone, who received a bullet wound was shifted to GMC Anantnag.

“The Army personnel was also immediately evacuated to a nearby hospital, where his condition is said to be stable,” the officer added.

Earlier, a joint team of Police and the Army launched a cordon and search operation in the Redwani area.

As the joint team of forces approached the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off an encounter.
