Lashkar militant captured with arms, ammo in Budgam

BUDGAM — Joint Forces today claimed that it arrested a militant affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba in Chadoora area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district along with arms and ammunition.

Sources told news agency Kashmir News Trust that the arrested militant is from Memandar village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district and had gone missing three weeks ago.

Sources added that the said militant had joined LeT in the first week of this month.

“A pistol, two magazines and 16 rounds were recovered from the said militant during an operation launched jointly by soldiers from 53 Rashtriya Rifles and SOG Chadora,” the statement said.
