
BARAMULLA — A civilian, who was injured in cross LoC shelling in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Friday, succumbed to his injuries, taking the number of civilians who were killed in the shelling, to four.
The slain civilian has been identified as Afrar Ahmed, 20, son of Muhammad Lateef, a resident of Kamal Kote. “He had multiple splinter injuries and breathed his last in a local hospital at Uri,” an official said.
Officials said that Pakistani troopers resorted to heavy firing and used mortars, small arms, triggering a chaos in dozens of Uri villages especially Kamal Kote, Nambla, Dulanja and others.
“Four civilians died due to the intense shelling today,” officials said.
