Man carrying pistol arrested in south Kashmir’s Shopian

SHOPIAN — Joint forces on Friday claimed that it arrested a man carrying a pistol in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.

Police said that during Naka checking at Tulran Nagisharan area of Shopian, a joint party of Shopian Police, 34RR and 178 Battalion CRPF intercepted a man and recovered a pistol, a magazine, and 8 rounds from his possession.

The man has been identified as Muhammad Asghar Dar, a resident of Nagisharan Shopian. Police have registered a formal FIR in this regard.
