PULWAMA — Suspected militants attacked a troopers post in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Official sources said that militants emerged in Bellow village of the district and fired dozens of rounds towards CRPF 183 Battalion. The CRPF Post is near police station.

Sources said the troopers retaliated and the exchange of fire continued for some time. The incident created panic in the village.

An official said that militants fled from the spot while government forces cordoned off the area and launched a cordon and search operation. The search operation was underway till the filing of this report.
