SRINAGAR — The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday carried out fresh raids in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Sources said that multiple raids were carried out in various villages of Baramulla district and at least four houses and a Government quarter were searched for many hours which included the houses of Ghulam Rasool Waza at Palhallan Pattan, Shaheen Ahmad Lone of Kanispora Baramulla and BJP Mahila Morcha leader Haleema in Boniyar Baramulla.

Sources added that Government quarter in Baramulla where Haleema is residing these days was also raided. The house of Tariq Ahmad (ex-Sarpanch) who was arrested last year by police in drug peddling case was also searched by NIA.

The NIA sleuths were accompanied by Central Armed Police Force and J&K Police personnel.

Raids were on by NIA in the aforesaid places, and nobody was allowed to enter the places when reports last came in.
