Nocturnal gunfight breaks out in Kulgam

SRINAGAR — A nocturnal gunfight broke out between militants and government forces in Yamrach village of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Thrusday.

Reports reaching here said that a joint team of Police, Army’s 34RR and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Yamrach village.

As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, triggering an encounter.

A senior police officer also confirmed about the exchange of firing between the forces and militants.

As per the sources, two to three militants are believed to be trapped.
